House Manager & Family Assistant – Part-Time (Meal Prep)

About the role

We are seeking a warm, proactive House Manager & Family Assistant to support our busy Austin family of six. The part‑time role (≈15‑20 hrs/week) focuses on afternoon household management, child care, meal preparation and overall home organization.

Key responsibilities

• Pick up the youngest child from preschool, prepare backpacks, snacks, lunches and manage afternoon routines.
• Perform daily household resets: light tidying, dishes, surface wipe‑downs, and organize high‑traffic areas.
• Manage laundry for the whole family, including folding, ironing/steaming and maintaining a tidy laundry area.
• Support meal prep by unpacking groceries, batch‑cooking proteins, vegetables and grains, and preparing 2‑3 family meals per week.
• Maintain inventory, run errands, handle donation drop‑offs and manage Facebook Marketplace listings.
• Oversee pet care scheduling, vehicle upkeep, and coordinate vendor services and household projects.

Required profile

• Warm, proactive, organized and able to adapt to a fluid household schedule.
• Comfortable around children and willing to pitch in wherever needed.
• Reliable, trustworthy with a strong sense of judgment and initiative.
• Authorized to work in the United States, with reliable transportation and a clean driving record.
• CPR and First Aid certified or willing to obtain certification upon hire.

Required skills

• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive for work‑related mileage.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Experience with household organization, laundry, meal preparation and basic pet care.
