House Manager & Family Assistant (Hybrid Childcare Support)

About the role

We are a close‑knit family of four living in Piedmont, seeking a part‑time House Manager & Family Assistant to blend household organization with after‑school childcare support. The role runs Monday‑Friday, 12 PM‑6 PM, with occasional evenings or weekends, and offers $40‑$45 per hour plus mileage.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and tidy all home areas, manage closets, pantry, toys, and oversee daily cleaning routines.
• Coordinate household schedules, calendars, seasonal swaps, and prepare the home for guests or events.
• Handle school pick‑ups and drop‑offs, supervise children in the afternoons, assist with homework, snacks, and occasional date‑night coverage.
• Track and restock pantry, fridge, toiletries; place orders with retailers and run errands such as grocery shopping and dry cleaning.
• Plan, prep, and batch‑cook healthy meals and snacks for the family, and keep the kitchen organized.
• Wash, fold, and organize family laundry and linens, ensuring laundry areas stay stocked.
• Schedule, supervise, and liaise with service providers (cleaners, handymen, landscapers) and manage vehicle maintenance.
• Perform occasional deep‑cleaning projects and organize special tasks like toy storage or seasonal décor.
• Support administrative needs such as travel planning, calendar management, and event coordination.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a house manager or nanny, with a track record of independent task management.
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to create and maintain home systems.
• Trustworthy, consistent, and comfortable communicating with both adults and children.
• Tech‑savvy with familiarity of Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Calendar) a plus.
• Flexible schedule, reliable transportation, and ability to maintain a smoke‑free environment.
