Hospital Medicine Nocturnist (Physician)

About the role

Ochsner Health is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Internal Medicine physician for a full‑time nocturnist position at Ochsner Rush in Meridian, MS. The role provides overnight hospital medicine coverage in a 215‑bed facility with a 23‑bed ICU and a 49‑bed LTAC. You will join an established team of providers delivering multidisciplinary care with low readmission rates.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overnight coverage from 6 pm to 6 am, managing a census of 35‑40 patients.
• Perform ICU rounds, intubations, code response, and central line placement.
• Collaborate with three intensivists and other specialty backup for patient care.
• Utilize telemedicine services for critical access hospitals as needed.
• Maintain documentation in the EPIC electronic medical record system.

Required profile

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine.
• Experience with critical care procedures and ICU environments.
• Willingness to work a 7‑on/7‑off block schedule and handle night‑time responsibilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with EPIC EMR platform.
• Experience using telemedicine tools for patient management.
