Home-to-School Transporter (School Bus Driver)

About the role

The District Transportation Department is seeking a reliable Home-to‑School Transporter to safely operate a designated school vehicle, transporting students to and from school on assigned routes. The role includes assisting with the loading and unloading of students with physical or mental disabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the school vehicle safely and efficiently on daily routes.
• Assist students, including those with disabilities, during boarding and alighting.
• Maintain a district‑insurable driving record and comply with all safety regulations.
• Keep valid California driver’s license, First Aid and CPR certifications up to date.
• Participate in random drug testing and meet pre‑employment TB clearance and fingerprinting requirements.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Transportation Administrator.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid California driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
• Ability to pass TB clearance, fingerprinting, and random drug testing.
• Experience driving students or groups is preferred.
