Helicopter IFR Pilot – Air Ambulance

About the role

PHI Health is seeking an experienced IFR‑rated helicopter pilot to join its air‑medical team in Palestine, Texas. You will operate EC135 aircraft on 24‑hour rotations, providing rapid medical transport and critical‑care response across diverse environments.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct line‑pilot duties in accordance with PHI Air Medical policies and GOM.
• Fly day and night missions, including NVG operations, to transport patients safely.
• Participate in community outreach programs and safety initiatives such as Destination Zero.
• Assist with loading and unloading patients and equipment as required.
• Support the company’s Safety Management System and adhere to CAMTS guidelines.

Required profile

• Commercial Helicopter Rating with Instrument endorsement.
• First‑Class Medical certificate.
• Minimum 2,000 total flight hours, including 1,500 helicopter hours.
• At least 1,000 PIC hours in helicopters and 500 turbine‑helicopter hours.
• Night experience: 100 unaided night hours or 50 unaided plus 100 NVG hours.
• 75 hours of instrument flight (actual & hood).

Required skills

• Proficiency operating EC135 helicopters under SPIFR/NVG conditions.
• Instrument flight proficiency (actual & hood).
• Night Vision Goggles (NVG) operation.
• Adherence to CAMTS standards and company safety policies.
