Healthcare Integration Engineer (Remote Opportunity)

About the role

Mind Computing is looking for a full‑time, 100% remote Healthcare Integration Engineer to support a Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) project. The role involves designing, developing, testing, and deploying enterprise‑scale healthcare integrations using HL7, FHIR, XML, and JSON standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and optimize HL7 v2/v3 and FHIR integrations.
• Create and maintain HL7 interfaces and FHIR APIs, handling data mapping, message transformation, routing, and integration logic.
• Collaborate with product teams, architects, and stakeholders to define interface requirements and implementation strategies.
• Translate enterprise architecture patterns into secure, reliable, production‑ready solutions.
• Establish integration standards, documentation, and best practices for performance, security, reliability, and observability.
• Troubleshoot complex integration and production issues, performing root‑cause analysis and remediation.
• Evaluate and implement integration tools and middleware while ensuring HIPAA compliance.
• Support CI/CD and DevSecOps processes for integration deployments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of hands‑on experience with healthcare integration, specifically HL7 and FHIR.
• Proven ability to take integration solutions from design through production support.
• Strong analytical and root‑cause troubleshooting skills.
• Experience working in Agile and DevSecOps environments with cross‑functional teams.
