About the role

Concept One Accessories is seeking a talented Handbag Designer to join its New York City team. The role focuses on creating seasonal handbag collections and technical specifications for well‑known licensed brands.

Key responsibilities

• Design innovative handbag collections from concept through production.
• Research market trends, materials, colors, and consumer preferences.
• Create sketches, technical drawings, and detailed design specifications.
• Develop seasonal concepts and product assortments.
• Collaborate with product development, sourcing, and merchandising teams.
• Review samples, provide feedback, and ensure revisions meet brand standards.
• Maintain alignment with brand identity, quality standards, and target pricing.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Accessory Design, or related field (preferred).
• 5+ years of handbag design experience.
• Strong knowledge of handbag construction, materials, hardware, and manufacturing processes.
• Excellent creativity, attention to detail, and trend‑forecasting abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator.
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop.
• Experience with design software for technical specifications.
