Grant Accountant

About the role

The Grant Accountant reports to the Finance Director and is responsible for the timely and accurate accounting of all grants and contracts of CRRC/APMI. This role supports financial reporting to funding partners and supervises the Grants & Contracts Administrator.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and ensure timely, accurate fiscal submission and reporting of federal, state, and other grants in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Maintain a system for tracking contribution restrictions and review grant expenses for compliance.
• Prepare monthly statements of activity, financial reports for reimbursement, quarterly reporting, and annual audits.
• Develop and submit required grant reports such as SF‑425 and federal cash transaction reports.
• Perform grant and contract drawdowns and invoicing using systems like Payment Management System, ASAP, Grants Online, IPP, and GrantSolutions.
• Supervise, coach, and evaluate the Grants & Contracts Administrator and promote collaboration among finance, grants, and program teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
• At least three years of experience in grant management, non‑profit accounting, and federal grant compliance.
• Knowledge of federal purchasing, 2 CFR Part 215, 2 CFR Part 230, OMB Circular A‑133, and FAR.
• Proven ability to meet heavy deadlines, juggle multiple demands, and work both independently and within a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
• Experience with accounting software; familiarity with AccuFund is preferred.
