Global Trade Compliance Assistant Manager

About the role

The Global Trade Compliance Assistant Manager supports the movement of shipments across the Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America supply chain, ensuring all documentation meets US Free Trade Agreement requirements. This position works closely with vendors, customs brokers, freight forwarders and carriers to guarantee timely and compliant import, export and domestic transportation.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as a subject‑matter expert on USMCA and USKOR, overseeing all aspects of free‑trade‑act compliance for HMGMA operations.
• Coordinate ocean, air and inland transportation from point of import to point of sale, including expedited shipments to meet production plans.
• Prepare and review trade documentation, ensuring accuracy and adherence to CBP regulations.
• Support cost‑saving initiatives and contribute to the development of global trade strategies.
• Provide training presentations for the Global Trade Department and assist with monthly compliance training.
• Maintain communication with headquarters to ensure consistent decision‑making.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 7+ years of experience managing US Free Trade Act (USMCA/USKOR) compliance.
• 5+ years of supervisory experience.
• Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Direct experience with import and export shipping and customs clearance.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• In‑depth knowledge of USMCA and USKOR trade regulations.
