Global Systems Engineering Leader, SRC

About the role

The Global Systems Engineering Leader formulates a long‑term vision for the Systems Engineering group within Philips’ Sleep and Respiratory Care business and ensures the department’s capabilities meet business objectives. The role is a people‑leader responsible for developing and growing a global team of 100‑200 Systems Engineers, championing Philips culture and driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement the long‑term strategy, policies, processes and budgets for the Global Systems team in alignment with R&D leadership.
• Maintain functional ownership of Systems Engineering standards, methods and architecture, building technical depth across the organization.
• Lead people management activities including recruitment, staffing, performance reviews, training and leadership development.
• Guide project managers and allocate personnel to ensure optimal project execution and delivery.
• Build strong cross‑functional relationships with Quality, Regulatory, Finance, Marketing, Operations and external scientific partners.
• Monitor technological developments, identify trends and opportunities, and shape innovation strategies.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical, Software, Biomedical or related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
• 15+ years of experience in a regulated environment, preferably medical or biotechnology.
• Proven experience leading systems engineering organizations of 100+ FTEs.
• Demonstrated ability to influence cross‑functional partners beyond R&D.
• Strong coaching and culture‑building skills aligned with Philips Behaviors.
• Track record of delivering complex medical consumer products from concept through launch.

• Base salary range €204,750 – €327,600 per year, with pay determined by skills, experience and internal equity.
