Full-Time Licensed Nursing Assistant – Days Shift (Surgical Services)

About the role

Under the general supervision of the Clinical Director and the leadership of a Registered Nurse, the Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) provides direct patient care on day shifts within surgical services. The LNA supports the care plan, monitors patient safety, and contributes to a high‑quality patient experience in accordance with Arizona’s LNA scope of practice.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to daily living and safety needs of assigned patients, including hygiene, positioning, and comfort.
• Obtain and record vital signs, heights, weights, and perform blood glucose checks.
• Assist with discontinuation of urinary catheters and peripheral IVs as directed by RN/LPN.
• Operate video monitoring equipment, report changes in patient status, and document interventions.
• Perform hourly patient rounds, bedside shift reports, and maintain accurate intake and output records.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, update patient communication boards, and ensure a safe, tidy environment.

Required profile

• Minimum 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Current valid Arizona LNA license and BLS certification.
• Previous experience as a Nursing Assistant or successful completion of a nursing assistant certification program.
• For Home Health/Hospice roles: valid Arizona driver’s license, clean driving record, and level‑one fingerprint clearance within 20 days of hire.

Required skills

• Blood glucose monitoring and documentation.
• Removal of urinary catheters and peripheral IVs.
• Operation of video monitoring systems for patient observation.
• Proficient use of standard office equipment (phone, computer, fax, printer, scanner).
