Full-Time Academic Hematology‑Oncology Physician

About the role

Ochsner LSU Health System – Monroe Medical Center and Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center‑Shreveport are seeking a full‑time academic physician in the Section of Hematology‑Oncology. The position is at the Assistant or Associate Professor level with interests in hematology, lung, breast, and/or gastrointestinal oncology.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in faculty activities, including teaching medical students, house staff, and fellows.
• Conduct translational or clinical research, publish findings, and present at medical conferences.
• Provide leadership and guidance to residents and medical students.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of physicians and nurses to develop customized patient care plans.

Required profile

• Board‑eligible or board‑certified in Hematology‑Oncology (BE/BC).
• Eligibility for a Louisiana medical license.
• MD or equivalent degree.
• J‑1 waiver visa applicants are welcome.
• Interest in translational or clinical research is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the EPIC electronic medical record system.
