About the role
We are looking for an experienced Frontend Software Engineer to help shape Chalk’s data platform. The role focuses on defining front‑end architecture, building reusable components, and collaborating across teams to boost developer velocity. You’ll work on‑site in San Francisco, reporting directly to the co‑founders and enjoying a high degree of autonomy.
Key responsibilities
- Define and drive front‑end architecture patterns and technical discussions.
- Develop reusable UI components using TypeScript and React.
- Collaborate with backend engineers and data scientists to expose platform functionality.
- Write production‑grade code in TypeScript, Python, and Go.
- Iterate quickly on the platform based on customer feedback.
Required profile
- 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong computer‑science fundamentals and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- Deep expertise in modern frontend technologies and best practices.
- Ability to work autonomously, make pragmatic trade‑offs, and communicate effectively.
