Founding Senior Software Engineer – Developer Experience & AI Platform

Every feature ClassDojo ships begins with an engineer. Developer Experience Engineering exists to remove the friction engineers face when waiting on builds, troubleshooting environments, or navigating complex workflows. As a Senior Software Engineer on the Developer Experience & AI Platform team, you will build tools, workflows, and AI‑powered experiences that make every engineer at ClassDojo more effective.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build internal platforms, tooling, and developer workflows that improve the experience of developing, testing, reviewing, deploying, and operating software.
• Identify high‑leverage platform investments that multiply engineering productivity and reduce friction.
• Build practical AI‑powered workflows to help engineers write, review, test, and ship software more effectively.
• Partner with product engineering, infrastructure, security, and technical leaders to prioritize opportunities and deliver platform capabilities.
• Create reusable tools, automation, documentation, and self‑service capabilities that become the preferred way engineers work.
• Measure impact using engineering metrics, developer feedback, and adoption data to continuously improve the developer experience.
• Contribute to the technical direction, engineering standards, and long‑term evolution of the Developer Experience Engineering team.

Required profile

• 7‑10+ years of experience building production software in modern engineering organizations.
• Enjoy solving organization‑wide engineering problems and thinking like a product engineer for internal platforms.
• Strong technical judgment to decide when to build, simplify, automate, or adopt existing solutions.
• Thrives in ambiguity and can help build a new Platform Engineering team.
• Builds trust through partnership and influence rather than authority.
• Deep care for engineering craftsmanship, maintainability, and long‑term platform health.
