Founding Developer Advocate (Developer Relations)

About the role

Weave, a YC W25 startup, is building an AI‑powered platform that redefines how engineering teams measure productivity, impact, and collaboration. As the Founding Developer Advocate, you will be the voice of the product to engineers, bridging product development and community adoption.

Key responsibilities

• Build and ship public demos, integrations, plugins, and sample projects that showcase Weave’s capabilities.
• Own and grow the open‑source Weave Router community: manage issues, pull requests, releases, documentation, and contributor relations.
• Create technical content—including tutorials, videos, and blog posts—to educate engineers on AI‑era engineering metrics.
• Engage directly with tech leads, staff engineers, and engineering managers to gather feedback and drive product improvements.
• Represent Weave at conferences, meetups, and online forums, fostering a vibrant developer ecosystem.

Required profile

• Passionate about developer advocacy and open‑source ecosystems.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable content.
• Self‑starter who thrives in a small, high‑impact team and enjoys ownership from day one.

Required skills

• Software engineering experience (building and maintaining codebases).
• Technical writing and content creation (tutorials, demos, videos).
• Open‑source project maintenance (issues, PRs, releases).
• Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and modern developer tooling.
