Founding Business Development Representative

About the role

Weave is building an engineering platform for the AI era and is looking for its first Business Development Representative. Reporting to the CEO and working side‑by‑side with the founding GTM team, you will create the outbound engine that turns the existing pipeline into a repeatable source of qualified meetings with engineering leaders.

Key responsibilities

• Research and identify target accounts, focusing on CTOs and VPs of Engineering who need insight into AI coding tool ROI.
• Craft personalized, human‑focused outreach across email, phone, LinkedIn and other channels to generate qualified pipeline.
• Attend engineering leadership events and dinners, initiate conversations, and follow up quickly to secure meetings.
• Design, test and document the outbound playbook – personas, segments, messaging, objections and channels – for future BDR hires.
• Gather prospect feedback and relay insights to founders, marketing and product teams on a weekly basis.

Required profile

• Comfortable making cold calls, asking insightful questions and securing next steps.
• Strong writing and research abilities to create concise, account‑specific outreach.
• Curiosity about software development, AI coding tools and how engineering teams evaluate new solutions.
• Good judgment to prioritize quality meetings over vanity metrics.
• Resilient, organized and able to handle rejection while maintaining high standards.
• Startup‑ready mindset: willing to experiment, iterate without a finished playbook and make progress visible.
• Available to work onsite in San Francisco.
