Forward Deployed Engineer

About the role

As the first Forward Deployed Engineer at Bunker Hill Health, you will bridge the gap between clinical ideas and production‑ready AI solutions on the Carebricks platform. Based in San Francisco, you’ll work closely with physicians, hospital IT teams, and operational leaders to turn messy healthcare workflows into reliable, AI‑native systems.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in stakeholder meetings to gather clinical requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Scope, design, and build AI agents that automate and improve patient‑care workflows.
• Develop evaluation frameworks to ensure agents perform as intended and comply with clinical guidelines.
• Maintain alignment of deployed use cases by iterating on agents based on feedback, guideline updates, and operational changes.
• Contribute to core platform enhancements driven by real‑world usage and user insights.

Required profile

• Strong ownership mindset with the ability to close the loop from problem identification to production fix within days.
• Comfortable communicating with clinical champions in the morning and debugging production pipelines in the afternoon.
• Customer‑outcome obsession and a passion for improving healthcare delivery through technology.

Required skills

• Experience with FHIR standards and healthcare data integration.
• Hands‑on experience building AI‑driven solutions or agents.
