Floating Pharmacist - Retail Pharmacy

About the role

Ochsner Health is seeking a Floating Pharmacist to work across its retail pharmacy locations. You will compound and dispense medications, provide immunizations, and support patients and clinicians with drug information and education.

Key responsibilities

• Compound and dispense medications and extemporaneous products for outpatients.
• Oversee daily activities of technical and clerical pharmacy staff; act as manager on duty when needed.
• Provide immunizations and medication therapy management services.
• Collaborate with clinical staff to manage complex drug therapies for specialty and transplant patients.
• Deliver drug information and patient education to physicians, patients, and other healthcare workers.
• Maintain all minimum standards set by the state board of pharmacy.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (required); Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience in a retail/community pharmacy setting.
• Active pharmacy license in the state of practice or eligibility for licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for immunizer roles.
