Float RN – Oncology (Various Locations)

About the role

This full‑time Float RN position supports the Community Oncology Practice by delivering direct patient care, administering infusion therapy, and maintaining accurate documentation. The role works across multiple sites, offering flexible day‑shift coverage.

Key responsibilities

• Assess oncology patients and prepare them for chemotherapy and other intravenous treatments.
• Administer chemotherapeutic agents, immunotherapy, and supportive IV medications safely.
• Provide patient education, psychosocial support, and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Perform blood draws, IV insertions, and manage central line catheters.
• Screen and triage acute patients, recognizing abnormal lab values and notifying physicians promptly.
• Document all care activities in compliance with regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Current California RN license.
• BSN or MSN degree.
• Basic Life Support certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross).
• ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy certification.
• Minimum two years of acute care or oncology outpatient experience.
• Knowledge of oncology patient population and infusion therapy processes.

Required skills

• IV insertion and blood withdrawal.
• Central line catheter management.
• Oncology infusion therapy administration.
• Use of UCLA registration, appointment scheduling, and order entry systems.
• Moderate‑complexity laboratory testing and result verification.
