Fire Alarm Technician – NYC, Nassau & Suffolk County

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Fire Alarm Technician to work on commercial and industrial sites throughout New York City, Nassau, and Suffolk County. The role involves installing, programming, and maintaining fire alarm systems to ensure safety and code compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Install fire alarm components, including wiring, control panels, detectors, and notification devices.
• Program, configure, and optimize fire alarm control panels.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
• Perform routine testing, inspections, and preventative maintenance.
• Document all installations, inspections, and service activities.
• Respond to emergency service calls and resolve system malfunctions promptly.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of hands‑on experience with fire alarm systems.
• Valid S‑98 Certificate (required).
• OSHA 30 Construction Certification and NYC SST Site Safety Training preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record.

Required skills

• Fire alarm system programming and troubleshooting.
• Installation of fire alarm systems.
• Reading blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
• Familiarity with Honeywell Notifier, Kidde, FCI Gamewell, Potter, and FireLite products.
