Financial Planning and Analysis Manager

About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is looking for a Financial Planning and Analysis Manager to lead the institution’s FP&A function. The role will support strategic decision‑making through budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting while collaborating with clinical and administrative leaders.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain annual budgets, forecasts, and long‑range financial plans.
• Prepare and present financial analyses, variance explanations, and performance dashboards to senior leadership.
• Partner with department heads to drive cost‑optimization initiatives and improve financial processes.
• Ensure compliance with university policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Lead a small team of analysts, providing mentorship and performance feedback.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Significant experience in financial planning, analysis, and reporting, preferably in a large academic or healthcare environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting complex financial information to non‑financial audiences.
