Financial Controller – Jewelry Industry Focus

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead accounting operations for a growing client in the jewelry sector. The role combines day‑to‑day financial management with strategic partnership to senior leadership, ensuring accurate reporting and continuous process improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
• Manage month‑end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and the overall financial reporting process.
• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, budget variances, and operational reports in accordance with GAAP.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual sales tax filings and compliance requirements.
• Maintain accurate financial records and documentation across all accounting activities.
• Supervise and mentor a small accounting team of 2–3 staff members.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5–10+ years of accounting experience with demonstrated leadership.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and accounting operations.
• Experience in retail, luxury goods, inventory‑heavy, or jewelry‑related businesses is a plus.
