Facilities Management Assistant

About the role

The United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund (UNJSPF) is seeking a Facilities Management Assistant to join its Business Support Section in Manhattan. Reporting to the Senior Facilities Management Assistant, you will work full‑time on‑site, coordinating construction, repair and maintenance activities across the UNJSPF premises.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and supervise construction, repair, maintenance and installation projects in coordination with building management.
• Manage maintenance services for installations, systems and equipment throughout the office space.
• Receive, analyse and prioritize service requests, prepare work orders, assign tasks and follow up on complaints.
• Review contractors' invoices and assist with processing payments.
• Conduct technical assessments of existing premises and support preparation of construction proposals, drawings, specifications and cost estimates.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers and internal departments to ensure project clarity and cost‑effectiveness.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in facilities or property management, preferably within a large, multi‑site organization.
• Ability to interact effectively with staff, contractors, vendors and UN internal services.
• Strong organisational and analytical skills to prioritize work and manage documentation.
