Experienced Heavy Industrial Manual Machinist

About the role

CMMC Machine, LLC is looking for an experienced Heavy Industrial Manual Machinist to join its North Charleston facility. The role involves setting up and operating a variety of manual machine tools to produce high‑quality components for defense‑related projects.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, and operate manual machine tools such as lathes, mills, and boring mills to produce precision parts.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical instructions.
• Select, align, secure, and change cutting tools, fixtures, and accessories safely.
• Use gauges and precision measuring instruments to verify tolerances.
• Perform daily cleaning and light maintenance on equipment.
• Work overtime, evenings or weekends as required and coordinate with plant personnel.

Required profile

• U.S. citizen with access to DoD facilities (no visa sponsorship).
• High school diploma or GED; 5‑10 years of related industrial machining experience preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints, perform basic math calculations and use precision measuring tools.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb, stand for long periods, and operate overhead cranes.
