Experienced Bridge Engineer (Hybrid)

About the role

We are seeking an Experienced Bridge Engineer to lead the design and delivery of bridge and retaining wall projects across Michigan and beyond. This hybrid role offers flexibility to work remotely while collaborating with our Michigan or Ohio offices.

Key responsibilities

• Lead bridge and structural design, including layout, analysis, and plan development, following MDOT and AASHTO standards.
• Prepare bridge layouts, material quantity calculations, and construction specifications for new and rehabilitated structures.
• Perform QA/QC reviews to ensure technical accuracy and quality of deliverables.
• Collaborate with roadway, geotechnical, and other engineering teams to deliver coordinated solutions.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and client communications.
• Mentor junior engineers and support their professional growth.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 8+ years of bridge design and structural engineering experience.
• Michigan Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Experience with MDOT and MDOT LAP projects.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design standards.
• Software: MicroStation, OpenRoads, Civil 3D (plus), AASHTOWare BrR, Merlin Dash, MathCAD.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
