Environmental Technician – Hazardous Materials

About the role
Join our Hazardous Materials group as an Environmental Technician, conducting inspections and fieldwork to ensure compliance with environmental regulations. You will work primarily from our New Haven, CT office, traveling to sites across Connecticut and neighboring states.
Key responsibilities
- Perform hazardous building material inspections for commercial, private, municipal, and residential clients.
- Collect air, wipe, and bulk samples for asbestos, lead, PCBs, radon, and other regulated substances.
- Maintain accurate field documentation and develop detailed inspection reports.
- Operate industrial‑hygiene equipment and conduct indoor‑air‑quality assessments.
- Assist with construction‑management tasks to ensure project design compliance.
- Participate in site walk‑throughs, proposal development, and construction meetings.
Required profile
- Associate degree in Environmental Science, Safety Studies, or a related field.
- 2+ years of fieldwork experience preferred.
- Asbestos Project Monitor license (required) and Asbestos Inspector license (preferred).
- OSHA 40‑Hour HAZWOPER training (preferred).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
