About the role
The University of Minho is seeking an entry‑level Information Technology Support Specialist to work remotely on a full‑time basis. The specialist will provide first‑line technical assistance to university staff and students, ensuring smooth operation of desktop computers, software applications, and related IT services.
Key responsibilities
- Respond to help‑desk tickets and user inquiries via email, chat or phone.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software and peripheral issues on desktop computers.
- Diagnose and resolve network connectivity problems at a basic level.
- Maintain and update IT asset inventory and documentation.
- Escalate complex incidents to senior IT teams while keeping users informed.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field (preferred).
- Strong communication skills and ability to assist a diverse user base.
- Adaptability and eagerness to learn in a fast‑paced academic environment.
