Engineering Manager, UI Platform

About the role

Anthropic is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the UI Platform that powers Claude.ai across web, mobile, desktop and browser extensions. The role combines hands‑on technical leadership with responsibility for reliability, latency and developer velocity, ensuring product teams can ship features quickly and safely.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and grow the UI Platform team, defining technical direction for reliability, performance and developer experience across all Claude.ai surfaces.
• Own shared infrastructure, components, build and deployment pipelines, observability and performance tooling used by product teams.
• Drive improvements that reduce friction for engineers, accelerate feature delivery and increase safety of releases.
• Maintain high standards for latency, reliability and quality of the platform.
• Collaborate with product engineering, infrastructure and leadership to align platform investments with product priorities.
• Provide clear direction in a fast‑moving, ambiguous environment and foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, with a focus on building platforms, developer tools or infrastructure for consumer‑facing products.
• 5+ years of engineering leadership experience, managing and scaling teams in high‑growth settings.
• Passion for developer experience and a proven track record of delivering tools that boost engineering productivity.
• Strong opinions and experience with reliability, observability and performance engineering.
