Engineering Manager, Research Productivity

About the role

Anthropic is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the Research Productivity team. You will guide a group of machine‑learning and distributed‑systems experts who build tools that accelerate large‑scale finetuning runs and improve researcher efficiency. The role sits at the intersection of research, product, and infrastructure teams, helping translate cutting‑edge AI advances into production pipelines.

Key responsibilities

• Prioritize team work with technical leads, research, and product groups to enable fast iteration on research projects and training runs.
• Design and implement processes such as post‑mortem reviews, incident response, and on‑call rotations.
• Coach and support team members in their professional growth.
• Lead recruiting efforts to scale the team during periods of rapid growth.

Required profile

• At least two years of experience managing engineering teams and a passion for people management.
• Strong interest in ensuring advanced AI systems have a positive societal impact.
• Ability to quickly understand a wide range of complex technical systems at a high level.
