Engineering Manager – Hardware Platform Security

About the role

Anthropic is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead its Hardware Platform Security team. The role combines hands‑on technical leadership with people management, ensuring the security of the compute platforms that run Anthropic’s AI models.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, hire, onboard and develop a group of full‑time platform security engineers and coordinate contractors and vendors.
• Define and execute the platform security roadmap covering hardware root of trust, secure and measured boot across CPUs, BMCs, accelerators and peripheral firmware, OS and kernel hardening, and attestation pipelines.
• Own the firmware supply‑chain posture, including SBOM generation, authenticated updates, rollback protection and vendor relationships.
• Conduct risk assessments for new compute platforms and provide evidence‑based go/no‑go recommendations.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, fleet, compute and detection‑and‑response teams to integrate security controls into production.
• Partner with silicon vendors, OEMs and compute providers to align hardware and firmware security requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing security‑focused engineering teams.
• Hands‑on background in firmware, bootloader, kernel and host software security.
• Ability to review designs, make trade‑off decisions and communicate technical rationale across hardware and software domains.
• Strong collaboration skills with internal product groups and external hardware partners.
