Engineering Manager, Growth

About the role

Sentry is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead its Growth (Value Discovery) team and expand the product‑led business by helping customers discover and extract maximum value from the platform. The role blends technical leadership with a strong product and data focus, driving experiments that prioritize developer value over pure conversion.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers, set priorities, and own the metrics the team moves.
• Own work across the self‑serve funnel—including signup, onboarding, activation, trial, upgrade, and billing—primarily in a Python/Django and TypeScript/React codebase.
• Evolve experimentation foundations with the Data team, improving flagging, instrumentation, and readouts.
• Run a disciplined experimentation loop where hypotheses are rigorously argued before implementation.
• Track conversion, activation, churn, support volume, and 90‑day retention, reporting all outcomes, even flat experiments.
• Develop engineers on the team, fostering the ability to deliver high‑quality work on rapidly changing features.

Required profile

• 3+ years managing engineers with a metric‑driven focus and a strong engineering background.
• Technical credibility at senior level, actively participating in architecture and technical decisions.
• Strong product sense to identify changes that create real developer value.
• Experience helping users get the most out of complex products.
• Fluency with experimentation frameworks, feature flags, A/B testing, and analytics instrumentation.
