Engineering Lead, Shared Services

About the role

Reflection's Shared Services team builds the core infrastructure that powers research, training, and production environments. As the Engineering Lead you will guide a high‑performing team of systems engineers, shape architecture, and contribute hands‑on to critical distributed services.

Key responsibilities

• Build, mentor, and grow a high‑performing team of systems engineers.
• Provide front‑line leadership for designing and scaling distributed systems, container/Kubernetes abstraction layers, and platform services.
• Stay hands‑on, making targeted contributions to the technical stack.
• Prioritize work, manage projects in a fast‑paced environment, and ensure robust SLI/SLO design, on‑call practices, and low tail‑latency.
• Collaborate with research and training teams to co‑design platform primitives and translate needs into roadmap investments.

Required profile

• Proven experience building, mentoring, and growing engineering teams while remaining technically hands‑on.
• Deep expertise in production‑grade distributed systems at scale.
• Strong coding ability and credibility to earn technical trust.
• Ability to guide strategy and execution in a zero‑to‑one, fast‑moving environment.
