Electrical Engineer (PE) – Remote

About the role

Wilson Engineers is seeking a licensed Electrical Engineer (PE) to work remotely on water and wastewater infrastructure projects. You will design and support low‑ and medium‑voltage power distribution systems, ensuring compliance with industry codes and client requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop single‑line diagrams, panel schedules, power and lighting plans, control schematics, conduit block diagrams, and installation details.
• Perform electrical calculations such as load summaries, breaker sizing, conduit and wire sizing, voltage drop, and fault‑current analysis.
• Create and review EI&C contract drawing packages in AutoCAD.
• Conduct construction shop‑drawing reviews, respond to RFIs, perform field inspections, and support start‑up and commissioning.
• Lead power system and arc‑flash studies; model distribution networks using SKM software.
• Interpret NFPA 70, NFPA 101, and NFPA 820 requirements and apply them to project designs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license, preferably Arizona.
• Minimum three years of electrical and industrial‑controls experience in the water/wastewater sector.
• Proven ability to produce detailed EI&C drawings and conduct system studies.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the capacity to work independently or within a team.
