Division Head, Pediatric Dentistry

About the role

The Division Head of Pediatric Dentistry will lead the academic and clinical mission of the division within Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and Lurie Children’s Hospital. Reporting to the Surgeon-in-Chief, this full‑time Clinician‑Educator role combines leadership, teaching, research, and advocacy responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and direct division activities to support clinical care, education, research, and advocacy.
• Oversee day‑to‑day operations of academic and occupational programs, including peri‑operative, ambulatory, and inpatient services.
• Recruit, develop, and retain faculty and trainees; foster interdisciplinary collaboration across sites.
• Lead strategic initiatives for service expansion, quality and safety improvement, and fiscal management.
• Represent the division on departmental committees and medical‑center leadership groups.
• Partner with the program director to ensure curriculum development, review, and evaluation.

Required profile

• Full‑time, non‑tenure‑eligible Clinician‑Educator at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor.
• Extensive experience in pediatric dentistry and academic medicine.
• Demonstrated leadership in clinical, educational, and research environments.
• Ability to manage faculty, trainees, and complex operational programs.
