Director, Services Business Development – Financial Institutions

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a Director (Senior Managing Consultant) to lead Services Business Development for U.S. Financial Institutions. The role will drive growth of Mastercard Services by expanding relationships with existing banks and acquiring new partners, positioning the company as a trusted advisor in digital payments and open banking.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, pursue and close new Services opportunities with existing and prospective financial institution clients.
• Lead complex, consultative sales cycles, shaping opportunities, articulating value, structuring deals and negotiating contracts.
• Engage senior client stakeholders to understand strategic priorities and demonstrate how Mastercard Services address their challenges.
• Develop and execute the USFI Services sales strategy in alignment with broader Mastercard objectives.
• Collaborate with Sales, Product, Analytics and Delivery teams to ensure seamless execution from sale to value realization.
• Foster a high‑performance, client‑centric culture, driving pipeline management, forecasting and accountability.

Required profile

• Proven track record of leading and closing complex sales cycles with financial institutions.
• Strong executive‑level relationship building and client advisory experience.
• Ability to develop and implement strategic sales plans that deliver measurable impact.
• Leadership experience managing cross‑functional teams and driving results.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
