Director of Human Resources

About the role

The University of Arkansas, Fayetteville is seeking a senior HR leader to serve as Director of Human Resources. Reporting to senior university leadership, the Director will guide the institution’s HR strategy, ensuring alignment with the university’s mission and values.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and oversight for all HR functions, including talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation, benefits, and compliance.
• Lead the HR Partners and Support team to deliver high‑quality services to faculty, staff, and student employees.
• Develop and implement policies that support a diverse, inclusive, and collaborative campus environment.
• Oversee HR data and reporting through Workday, ensuring accurate workforce analytics.
• Collaborate with university leadership on workforce planning and organizational development initiatives.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in human resources leadership, preferably within higher education.
• Proven ability to manage complex HR operations and lead multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong knowledge of employment law, labor relations, and HR best practices.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
