Direct Support Professional – IDD Residential Services

About the role

The Direct Support Professional provides personal care, social support, and skill‑building assistance to individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in a residential setting. Working night shifts, you will help clients achieve greater independence and community participation while ensuring a safe, dignified environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct personal care and supervision to clients in a residential or community setting.
• Assist in developing and updating individual service/treatment plans.
• Teach basic life skills such as cooking, shopping, and personal hygiene.
• Observe, monitor, and document client behavior, incidents, and wellness activities.
• Deliver training in personal, social, academic, and work‑related skills.
• Arrange and support access to medical care and ongoing treatments.
• Monitor food intake, functional status, and psychosocial wellbeing.
• Facilitate relationship building and social networking for clients.
• Provide transportation for individual appointments and community activities.
