Design Architect – Advanced Facilities

About the role

Jacobs is seeking a Design Architect to join its Advanced Facilities group in Pittsburgh. You will contribute to the design of mission‑critical semiconductor, life‑science, and other high‑tech facilities, supporting business development, client engagement, and overall design quality.

Key responsibilities

• Perform conceptual, layout, and detailed architectural design and analysis for advanced facilities.
• Coordinate design and construction activities, conduct studies, and deliver various analyses.
• Mentor junior designers and drafters, providing technical guidance and coaching.
• Lead a team of designers on specific project areas, producing construction drawings, specifications, and 3D models.
• Participate in project meetings, resolve multidisciplinary concerns, and champion quality reviews.
• Advance workflows, systems, and tools within the architectural discipline, embracing emerging technologies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
• Professional Architecture license in the United States.
• Minimum of 7 years of architectural experience, including work with building codes and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail, quality‑control mindset, and ability to manage workload independently.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Revit for architectural modeling and documentation.
• Knowledge of building codes and specifications relevant to advanced facilities.
