Customer Software Application Engineer (Python)

About the role

At Seasats we develop autonomous ocean vehicles and need a Customer Software Application Engineer to provide responsive support, troubleshooting, documentation, and integration assistance for our global customers.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the technical point of contact for external customers and internal teams, guiding setup, usage, and troubleshooting.
• Create and maintain customer‑facing documentation such as integration guides, release notes, and knowledge‑base articles.
• Debug and resolve issues in real‑world deployments, reproducing problems with engineering teams to identify root causes.
• Assist customers with new payload and feature integration projects.
• Develop and maintain Python utility applications and tools for customers.

Required profile

• At least 2 years of technical professional experience.
• Excellent communication and technical writing skills, with a proven record of useful knowledge‑base articles.
• Strong customer‑focused mindset and willingness to handle occasional late‑night support calls.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• Hardware/software integration and embedded environments.
• Basic networking concepts (IP addresses, subnets, DNS, routing).
• Linux command‑line usage, bash scripting, SSH, SCP.
• Familiarity with data protocols such as RS‑485, RS‑232, CAN, Ethernet (TCP/UDP).
• Experience with sensor integration and analysis (GPS, IMU, LiDAR).
