CT/Mammography Technologist (PRN)

About the role

Ochsner Health seeks a PRN CT/Mammography Technologist to assess patients and safely perform routine computed tomography and mammography procedures. The technologist will follow radiation safety protocols, serve as a clinical mentor for junior staff, and contribute to high‑quality imaging services.

Key responsibilities

• Verify physician orders and procedures for accuracy.
• Use the Radiology Information System (RIS) to facilitate patient care.
• Explain imaging procedures to patients and obtain necessary consents.
• Operate CT and mammography equipment independently, including IV placement when required.
• Review images for diagnostic quality before transmission.
• Perform timely quality‑control checks and address any regulatory issues.
• Assist with departmental operations such as inventory, staff scheduling, and equipment maintenance.
• Adapt communication style to respect patient privacy and cultural needs.
• Provide additional related duties as needed.

Required profile

• Completion of an approved radiologic technology program.
• Current unrestricted state license and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• ARRT registration or eligibility within the specified timeframes.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure, self‑directed, and flexible with schedule.
• Willingness to travel between facilities as required.
