Criminal Defense Legal Assistant (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a full‑time Criminal Defense Legal Assistant to support our Criminal Defense Department on a remote basis. The role involves managing case files, conducting legal research, and assisting attorneys throughout the litigation process while providing high‑quality client service.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and organize documents for client meetings, court filings, discovery, and other legal proceedings.
• Maintain client files and electronic records with accuracy and confidentiality.
• Conduct legal research and help draft case summaries, motions, and other documents.
• Communicate with clients to gather information and provide case updates.
• Draft correspondence to clients, courts, prosecutors, and opposing counsel.
• Assist attorneys with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and witness materials.
• Monitor case deadlines and manage attorney calendars.
• Collaborate with attorneys and staff to ensure timely completion of tasks.

Required profile

• JD or equivalent law degree from your home country.
• Minimum two years of experience as a legal assistant, paralegal, or case manager, preferably in criminal defense.
• Advanced English proficiency (C1‑C2) with excellent written and verbal communication.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and time‑management abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook.
• Legal case management software.
