About the role

ClearStar is looking for a hands‑on Controller to lead accounting execution and drive transformation across the Finance function. This remote‑first position will own the month‑end close, controls, cash management, tax compliance and accounting systems while partnering with the CFO and FP&A.

Key responsibilities

• Own and execute monthly, quarterly and annual close processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
• Maintain general ledger integrity, perform reconciliations and improve close efficiency through automation.
• Build and strengthen internal controls, lead external audits and keep the organization audit‑ready.
• Identify and implement automation opportunities, leveraging AI and system tools to scale accounting workflows.
• Manage cash flow visibility, liquidity planning, banking relationships and disciplined working‑capital management.
• Oversee federal, state and local tax filings and coordinate with external tax advisors.
• Maintain NetSuite structure, data integrity, reporting outputs and system integrations.
• Lead and develop a small accounting team, setting clear expectations and performance standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in accounting leadership, preferably in a fast‑growing, technology‑driven environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with a focus on process improvement and automation.
• Ability to partner cross‑functionally and communicate financial information clearly.
