Construction Superintendent

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead field operations on commercial construction projects throughout the Chicago area. The successful candidate will be the on‑site leader, ensuring safety, schedule adherence, and high‑quality execution while collaborating closely with project managers, subcontractors, and clients.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all on‑site construction activities from ground‑up build‑out through project closeout.
• Manage daily field operations, subcontractors, and site logistics.
• Develop and maintain look‑ahead project schedules.
• Ensure work complies with OSHA safety standards.
• Conduct site meetings, coordinate trades, and resolve field issues in real time.
• Monitor quality control and enforce adherence to plans and specifications.
• Collaborate with the Project Manager on budgets, timelines, and change orders.
• Maintain accurate daily reports and site documentation.
• Enforce jobsite cleanliness, organization, and safety protocols.

Required profile

• 5–10+ years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction.
• Proven experience with ground‑up and interior build‑out projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, and safety practices.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Demonstrated leadership managing subcontractors and field teams.

Required skills

• Procore or similar construction management software.
