Clinical Pharmacy Specialist – Emergency Medicine

About the role

The Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Emergency Medicine provides direct clinical pharmacy services to patients and acts as a resource, educator, and mentor for physicians and other caregivers at Kingman Regional Medical Center. This full‑time, rotating position supports all patient care areas with a focus on improving therapeutic outcomes and reducing healthcare costs.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver clinical pharmacy services, including pharmacokinetics, parenteral nutrition, and general pharmaceutical care across patient care areas.
• Identify, resolve, and prevent medication‑related problems through collaborative practice, interdisciplinary rounding, and patient interviews.
• Coordinate and interpret laboratory monitoring of drug therapy, such as serum drug levels and electrolytes.
• Contribute to cost‑effective pharmacotherapy by decreasing length of stay, readmission rates, and overall patient costs.
• Serve as a mentor and preceptor for residency training programs and present drug monographs, medication use evaluations, and policy recommendations.

Required profile

• Graduate of an ACPE‑accredited School of Pharmacy with a Pharm.D. or BS in Pharmacy.
• PGY2 residency in Emergency Medicine/Critical Care or Board certification (BCEMP or BCCCP).
• Licensed in Arizona (or obtain license within 90 days of hire).
• Physical ability to sit, stand, walk, lift up to 10 lb, and perform standard sensory tasks.
