Classical Hematology Physician

About the role

Ochsner Health is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Classical Hematologist to join the Ochsner MD Anderson Cancer Center. The position combines patient care, teaching, and research within a collaborative academic environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide inpatient and outpatient classical hematology services, including virtual consult coverage.
• Teach and mentor fellows and residents in the ACGME‑accredited hematology fellowship program.
• Participate in clinical research studies and contribute to program development.

Required profile

• Board certification or eligibility in hematology.
• Experience in classical hematology practice and interest in academic medicine.
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and support advanced practitioner resources.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the EPIC electronic medical record system.
• Familiarity with eConsult platforms and virtual care workflows.
