Certified Nursing Assistant – Per Diem Nights

About the role

Under the supervision of a Clinical Director and RN, the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct patient care during night shifts on a per‑diem basis. The role supports the care plan, ensures patient safety, and contributes to a positive patient experience across multiple units.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to daily living and safety needs of assigned patients, including hygiene, positioning, and comfort.
• Obtain and record vital signs, height, weight, intake and output according to policy.
• Assist RN staff with patient transport, bedside shift reports, and documentation on required forms.
• Maintain a clean, safe patient environment and ensure necessary supplies are within reach.
• Operate video monitoring equipment, report behavioral changes, and complete video monitoring logs.
• Perform hourly patient rounds, update communication boards, and assist with admission tasks.
• Provide backup support for Camera Techs in designated units when needed.
• Follow infection‑control procedures, maintain confidentiality, and participate in quality‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum age 18 (CNA) or 16 (LNA) with high school diploma or equivalent.
• Current and valid Certified Nursing Assistant certification.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or Red Cross.
• Arizona driver’s license (21+ years) with clean record for Home Health/Hospice roles.
• Level‑one fingerprint clearance card required within 20 days of hire for Home Health/Hospice.
• Ability to lift/assist patients up to 300 lb and stand, bend, kneel, or walk for extended periods.

Required skills

• Video monitor equipment operation and troubleshooting.
• Accurate measurement and documentation of vital signs.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) emergency response.
• Use of standard office equipment (phone, computer, fax, scanner).
