Certified Nursing Assistant Adjunct Instructor

About the role

The State of Georgia seeks a part‑time Certified Nursing Assistant Adjunct Instructor to join the faculty at Georgia Piedmont Technical College. You will develop lesson plans and deliver classroom credit courses in CNA education across the DeKalb and Newton campuses, with flexible scheduling that may include evenings and weekends.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lecture and laboratory instruction, including online components, for the Certified Nursing Assistant curriculum.
• Evaluate student performance, apply continuous‑quality‑improvement methods, and maintain accurate student records and reports.
• Prepare and regularly update course syllabi and instructional materials.
• Advise and motivate students on program expectations, career pathways, and professional development.
• Report to the Vice President of Economic Development and collaborate with college staff.

Required profile

• Current, active Georgia license as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN).
• Certified Train‑the‑Trainer (or completion within 45 days of hire).
• American Heart CPR Instructor certification.
• At least three years of recent full‑time LPN/RN clinical experience.
• Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to teach all phases of the CNA curriculum.
• Flexible availability for day, evening, and weekend classes.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Blackboard Learning Management System.
• Certified Train‑the‑Trainer methodology.
• CPR instruction and certification.
