Capture Manager

About the role

Cape is seeking a Capture Manager to drive new business growth with government and defense customers. The role owns the end‑to‑end capture process, from market research and capture planning through proposal development and contract award, working closely with cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct market research using open‑source tools and intelligence services to identify and qualify new opportunities, monitor emerging programs, and develop win‑themes.
• Lead proposal and content development, writing responses to RFIs, RFQs, RFPs and white papers, and coordinating with technical SMEs to create compelling narratives.
• Support pricing strategy and deal structuring by gathering inputs from finance, contracts and program management to ensure competitive and accurate offers.
• Serve as the connective link among business development, engineering, program management, legal, finance and executive leadership to keep pursuits coordinated and on schedule.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in business development, capture management, or proposal writing supporting government or defense contracts.
• Active US Secret clearance.
• Strong understanding of government procurement processes and the full capture lifecycle.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to translate complex technical information into clear, persuasive content.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience and willingness to travel for customer meetings and industry events.
