Buyer – Procurement & Supplier Management for Autonomous Vessels

About the role

Saronic Technologies is seeking a Buyer to lead sourcing, procurement, and supplier management for the production of autonomous surface vessels for the Department of Defense. The role ensures reliable suppliers, negotiates contracts, and guarantees timely delivery of high‑quality materials.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, monitoring quality, cost, and delivery performance.
• Identify, evaluate, and select new suppliers to diversify the supply base.
• Negotiate terms, pricing, and contracts to achieve cost‑effective agreements while maintaining standards.
• Conduct cost analysis and benchmarking to uncover savings opportunities.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production to support schedules and minimize excess.
• Manage supply‑chain risks and ensure compliance with government procurement regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business or a related field.
• Experience in procurement and supplier management, preferably in defense or maritime industries.
• Strong negotiation, communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Familiarity with government procurement regulations such as FAR and DFAR is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with procurement software and tools.
• Knowledge of government procurement regulations (e.g., FAR, DFAR).
