About the role
The Buyer will support the University of Arkansas at Little Rock’s Procurement Services by managing the acquisition of goods and services needed across campus. Working within state and federal regulations, the role ensures timely purchase order processing and vendor coordination.
Key responsibilities
- Process purchase orders using the university’s automated procurement system.
- Review purchase requests, obtain quotes, and maintain contract documentation.
- Develop and manage term contracts, including preparing specifications and history sheets.
- Identify appropriate bidders, issue solicitations, and evaluate proposals.
- Maintain accurate records of orders, invoices, and asset accounting.
Required profile
- Associate degree in Business, Finance or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum four years of relevant experience, including at least two years in procurement or related purchasing functions.
- Knowledge of state and federal procurement regulations.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Required skills
- Proficiency with automated procurement software (e.g., Workday).
- Basic accounting and bookkeeping principles.
